First carp on a fly rod

I remember my very first time fishing for carp.  The excitement is breath taking!
It took me about thirty minutes to compose myself after landing it.  I drank a quart of Gatorade and that was not enough to calm me down.  I felt like I had just run up stairs at full speed.  That first carp is like no other; so I can appreciate what this fly fisher experienced.   How did you feel after the first carp?
