Crappie
Went to Prospect Park yesterday. I walked around
the lake saw no fish at all. I fished in front
of the Boathouse with my Orvis full flex fly rod.
This is a fiberglass rod with the typical slow
flex of a bamboo fly rod.
I practiced casting with this rod for about 30 minutes.
Slowing the casting motion can mean a tighter loop with
a slow flex rod. I fished a #12 bead head white wooly
bugger.
I have a theory that at this time of year fish become
active in the late afternoon. I seem to catch more
fish after 5:00pm that at anytime before 5:00pm.
